We’re making science visible at the iconic Bondi Icebergs pool – come jump in and swim through an underwater Crayweed forest and VOLVO Living Seawall display!

This installation by Volvo and the Sydney Institute of Marine Science showcases  - Living Seawalls and Operation Crayweed – two research solutions harnessing young ingenuity to reengineer our coastlines so they can support thriving marine ecosystems for future generations.

Come and dive into this innovative science and learn how we can all give nature a helping hand.

Volvo Cars has a long and rich history of designing and engineering its cars around people. They have a word in Swedish – omtanke – that means care and consideration. It’s the lens through which Volvo view the world. But a caring, considered approach does more than just inspire them to build better cars; it shapes how they see everything. Omtanke allows them to solve problems of all shapes and sizes, from safety in cars to electrification, ocean pollution and more. It drives innovations that make life more effortless. More considerate.

This focus on innovation makes Volvo, and the Sydney Institute of Marine Science ideal partners. Living Seawalls is an exceptional example of how modern divergent thinking can be scaled to resolve global environmental issues, creating a blueprint for a future where design is developed with nature firmly in mind

That’s what the Volvo Living Seawall is all about. For more see here.

Scientists from Operation Crayweed and Living Seawalls will be on hand on the pool deck throughout the event, plus there are exciting immersive workshops planned. Free entry for ticket holders from 10am to 4pm, Friday March 11 to Sunday March 13.

We can’t wait to see you there!
